John Kessler

John L. Kessler graduated from The University of Iowa in 1981 with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and worked a wide range of engineering, operations, research & development, and business roles within DuPont for 35 years (including Pioneer Seeds as final assignment). John also earned a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina in 1985 and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Delaware in 1998. John’s primary role at DuPont was as a Global Engineering Manager at Headquarters and at other global locations, where John was in charge of providing and developing the engineering resources that were used to safely deliver engineering facilities and solutions that create and sustain competitive supply chains for DuPont all over the world. DuPont operated in approximately 80 countries and offered a wide range of innovative products and services for the agriculture, nutrition, electronics, communications, safety and protection, construction, transportation, and apparel industries. John’s background with DuPont also included extensive working experience in Asia for 9 years on several business-critical projects. John earned two DuPont Engineering Excellence Awards over his career and retired from DuPont in 2016. He and his wife now make their home in Coralville, Iowa. They have two grown daughters who graduated from University of Iowa medical programs and have 5 grandchildren. John was a lifelong member of AICHE, a registered professional engineer, and has served on the University of Iowa CBE Advisory Board since 2011.
